EmpowerStudents is a life-readiness assessment platform for children and adults, built by a working neurosurgeon who saw, over three decades in clinical practice, how much preventable suffering starts at home.
Why we exist
Modern schools measure marks. Modern hospitals treat illness after it has arrived. Neither answers the question every parent quietly asks at 2 AM: is my child actually ready for life?
EmpowerStudents was built to answer that question in a structured, honest, non-frightening way. We measure what actually decides a future — health, emotions, money sense, communication, safety, and the ability to stand on one's own two feet. Twenty-seven life domains, scored across every age band.
Meet the founder
Dr. P. K. Jha
Clinical background: MBBS from Patna Medical College and Hospital, M.Ch in Neurosurgery from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. Thirty-plus years of clinical practice.
Current work: Runs Neuro Care India at Gaur City 1, Greater Noida and the Institute of Brain and Spine in Bhagalpur, Bihar.
Interests beyond neurosurgery: Vedanta, wellness, and human potential. Actively works as a life coach alongside surgical practice. Believes prevention and self-awareness are the most under-used tools in modern medicine.

- Human Independence Index evaluations — structured self-assessment across 27 life-readiness domains, age-adapted from early childhood through adulthood
- Parent Reflection — a private 15-minute reflection for parents on home, family, and their own state, followed by a personalised report and 7-day home practice plan
- Adaptive child evaluations — turn-by-turn assessments for cognitive ability, behaviour, awareness, and academic readiness
- Referral network — partnerships with child development centres, therapy clinics, and paediatric practices across Delhi NCR and beyond
- Educational content — a blog with honest, medically-grounded articles for parents, written by clinicians

The team behind the code
The platform is built by Dr. Jha's team, drawing on:

- Voluntary contribution from the Neuro Care India nursing and administrative team
- Software engineering support from associates familiar with healthcare tech
We are small, deliberately. We move slowly on purpose — because getting evaluations wrong has real consequences for real children.
